From the early 1950’s until the 1990’s, the Photographic Works site was occupied by Munn’s Brothers Photographic Processing Works, a specialist business that developed films for companies such as Boots. Similarly, the surrounding area was also packed with specialist manufacturing companies, notably jewellers, that together make up the glistening Jewellery Quarter. It is this remarkable history that inspired the homes you see today.

Right now the area continues to reflect its brilliance through fine food and buzzing bars, with a new wave of commerce attracting young residents, such as: Root’s Market, a sustainable grocery store, and The Borrow Shop, a library of useful household things. Among the thriving businesses there are more regeneration projects in the works, marking the Jewellery Quarter as the place to be.
